Yahoo!! Way to go Surf!!! I'm so proud to be able to say I knew him when...

We have a small brag from this past weekend too. Our Norwich girl earned two more points toward her championship at the Rogue Valley KC shows in Merlin, OR.

That is awesome news about Surf!! It is too bad that you won't be able to keep him there for the full year.
Congratulations!!

Yeah Surf, number 1 in the rankings is HUGE! We got to number 4 with our last special.

I finally got out to a show this past weekend in Minnesota. My new young male made his specials debut and won the breed on sat. We lost on sunday tho. We didnt do anything but look good in the group.

RV related our frig wouldnt work on propane. We had no hookups, so it is in to the shop next week.

SAndy,

A BIG congrats on the BOB!! When it's a young dog it can be a challenge!
Bummer about the frig. When we went to lower the levelers, we lost all power--generator, 12 Volt. Thankfully it was only a circuit breaker and we had signed up for electric but initially it wouldn't work either so I was envisioning LOTS of spoiled food as we feed raw to the mastiffs!
So our moho went to the shop this afternoon to see what is happening.
By any chance you going to the Idaho circuit?

Idaho is way outside my area of travels. Except for a national or other specialty. Will be sticking close to home this year, but will go to Greeley in August.

Sandy,

Would LOVE to do Greeley--always good mastiff entries there. However, handler is going elsewhere

Tried to convince him to go since there is a Corgi specialty but no dice.

We'll meet somewhere .

Surf was #1 again in May in All Breed points but that is coming to an end.
He seemed a bit lethargic when he returned home with Daddy from Idaho. 2 days later he had a urinary blockage and had emergency surgery to remove stones! These stones are of a genetic nature--cystine so we have decided to retire him so the stress does not complicate matters. There is no real treatment--just VERY expensive drug that may or may not work. The other option is to do a surgery which basically makes him into a girl He will still form stones but they will not block him which is life-threatening.
My poor baby boy. He has been through SO much!
We are going to try the medicine for a few months and see how it goes but more than likely we will do the surgery in the fall when it is cooler here. Very complicated and bloody surgery we are told.
Sigh. Not a good thing for the boy. Very sad.

Dog-gone-it Surf! I can feel for you boy, stones (of any kind) are no fun! So sorry to hear that you might have surgery. Hope you get to feeling better soon! Hi to K & J! We know you are giving him the best care possible.

Oh, poor Surf! I agree... stones of any kind are horrible. Hope he is doing better now and that he can stay stone-free. He is such a sweet dog... you must be so proud of how well he has done. Hugs to all of you...

Hi all,
First off, Jo and I want to say that we miss you Karen and Jeff and Surf (the now retired #1 Mastiff Supremo of ALL TIME!!!) We can't wait to be in the shows with you this fall/winter with you and Sparkle.

Jo and even I showed Dash this weekend. He was in terrific coat (finally) and looked handsome as ever. He took BOB both days but couldn't take a possition in the group ring. The terriors that beat him were very nice dogs, so that put a little salve on our "looser wounds".

We had a very good time and met some nice people. We even got to see some fireworks on the 4th of July from the ballpark in the same fairgrounds in Spokane, WA. as the dogshow. We were entertained, but the dogs were NOT impressed. The whole dogshow area went dead quiet, aka: "no barking" went on from the first to the last BANG for the night.

We're now settled back into the Deer Park RV and Golf Resort again for the rest of the month untill we go to Newport, OR. for the Safari Rally at Pacific Shores Outdoor Resort.

The Surfer Dude will continue to rock on, on different lifes' sands. May his beaches be filled with mega sand castles.

Tom

Mom2mastiffs.

Don't let anyone talk you into a Urethrostomy, its no longer a recommended procedure. You may be able to treat this with just diet and the right hydration. Good luck with Surf.

Steve
