Awoke at 6:15 this morning to the sound of my motorhome horn blaring in the early dawn. Fortunately it wasnt the air horn. Rushed up to the front to find one of my cats sitting on the steering wheel. Never even thought about that possibility. My apologies to my neighbors. Found and pulled the fuse so there wouldn't be a repeat. Good grief!

If neighbors comment about no horn sounds after this tell them you are now using "old Indian alarm clock" method: Three tall glasses of water just before retiring. Guaranteed to get you up in the morning!!

When I had my lab/dane mix, I said he was the smartest dog in the world because he could tell 6 a.m. in the Pacific time zone, Mountain time, Central and Eastern. He did have some difficulty with daylight savings. Now that I have a hound dog, she is the last out of the bed in the morning. Sometime you have to throw her out of bed to make it.

We wake up in the morning to the sounds of our "Bobby". He is one really ambitious canary. We have him and two ladies in the bedroom. Don't let anybody tell you that birds don't travel well. We have been on the road for almost 11 years. Love it.

Our dalmations are real good alarm clocks. At home they will sleep until 8 or 9 and when we camp they seem to get up at 6 or 7 without fail. Go figure

Get a steering wheel topper. It keeps our 4 cats off the horn (and we learned with the air & train horns) buttons!

Ha! Sorry to laugh at your unfortunate wake-up. Cats crack me up - I have 6 of them. I haven't yet moved into my RV for full-timing but I do wonder what they will do when it's Nascat time (when they all start running laps around the house often including me as an obstacle) in a much smaller space.

A couple months ago I had a similar wake-up call. One of my critters decided that standing on a plugged in shop-vac would be a great way to get a better look at my mouse habitat. Sure enough, they hit the power button at 4:05am setting me clear out of bed in a single leap and literally scaring the poo out of themselves.

Our current cat, Gascap, opened the generator bay the first night in the MH when we bought her. We got some boxes to go over all the switches so he can no longer step on them to turn on the fog lights or open the generator bay or several other things.
