Has anyone seen/made/bought such a critter? What I am looking for is a gizmo that will fit into an existing RV window, hang off the side of the RV at window level and allow the cats to pass in & out while still being confined.

Any suggestions?

They make cat doors that fit into windows, but you would probably have to make the "cage" that hangs on the outside. Probably not too difficult if you are handy, but perhaps bulky to store in the RV unless you also make it collaspible. I made a screen window to fit into a storage bay back when we had a 5W - our cat had access to the front bay from inside via a door I oput in the back of a cupboard and he would go to the bay and hide out/sleep or lay in front of the screen "window" and watch the world go by. Had his litter pan in the bay as well.

I recall seeing an advertisement for an RV pet window-cage a few years ago, but don't recall where and can't find any sign of it on the net. Probably didn't sell well enough to stay on the market.

We met some people with a 5th wheel that had a cat perch. It used the existing window in their bedroom. When traveling it folded down next to the side and stuck out less than awnings do. When they parked they would just open it up. If I remember right it had a 'door' thru the window similar to a regular house pet door. Wish I could remember the name. I don't have a number for them or else I would contact them. But they do exist.

An iRV2.member, go44, has a posting for a mobile cat house he built that attached to the side of his trailer. Here's the link:

go44 - Mobile Cat House

He had a picture of it, but with the recent loss of the hard drive on the server, I'm quite certain it's no longer there.

Maybe you can contact Barrie (go44) and see if he would put it back in the photo album.

Go to the PET OWNERS thread -top of this page- and on page 6 is "Tonigil" with a link to her cat condo! Great idea!
