I regularly test my auto gen start to see IF it works and at what interior temp. I still get nervous when leaving my dog and 4 sugar gliders in the heat....worrying about a campground power failure and my gen not starting ...how often does it happen?????

After RVing for 20 years without any back up we finally have a motorhome with the AGS feature. Like you, I have tested it numerous times under various situations to make sure it works. I does make me feel a little better. All that said I still worry. I am a computer programmer and have spent some time designing an alarm system that would call your cell phone in the event of a power outage or high coach temperature. I wonder what the market would be for this kind of device and peace of mind that would go with it....

Howard,

I also have an AGS system (I just installed it!), but I too worry about leaving the pooches behind to a campground power failure (which has happened to me) on a hot day. Thus the AGS.

I have searched the internet for such an alarm system as you describe as a failsafe. I'd love to have one.

I think I remember seeing or someone mentioning a system similar to what you describe...alerting to power failures by way of pager.
I'd be interested in one IF it was only a few hundred bucks!

Actually I am doing this for my own peace of mind and should be beta testing a unit in the next 3-4 months. I will keep you posted on my progress if you wish.

Howard,
I think the market would be great for a product like that.
