High Meadow is a really nice campground but for some reason they allow any size dog any breed in campgrounds. I had a nasty German Shepard next to me with a deep loud bark to where I wouldn't even empty my tanks for three of my four day stay. This dog even lurched at passer by and had a thick choker collar. There was a easter egg hunt for the children and two pit bulls were brought there. The other thing that got to me was people walking there dogs in the meadow early and late and not picking up. I watched it happen at least five times. This makes it bad for the ones that do follow rules. Just allot of dogs there and no control. Nice green area for you and your kids to play while you tread through dog poop. High Meadow management wake up and take control!!!!

Hi

Here is some advice for people with dog problems (crapping) and owners not picking it up. You have (2) options, pick up the **** or I am going to management AND I am going to call the health dept as you are creating a health hazard" I get dirty looks from them the rest of the stay, but the area is cleaner because of it.
See most Americans are afraid to demand what they paid for. I paid for a clean RV site and common areas and I WILL receive what I paid for. I am a 28 year NAVY retiree and I always demanded my subordinates and my superiors play by the same rules.
By the way I have been around dogs(Dads and my family) for 52 of my 62 years, so I not anti-dog. I am against stupid people. You can't fix stupid.

Little tip about nasty dogs. I carry around a small squirt gun with 50/50 ammonia/water mix. They approach me snarling and not on a leash, they get a squirt right in the face. They take off like a bat out of hill. If owners approach with attitude, I say "I felt threatened for my life. Do you understand or should I call the state police and have them explain the law to you"
End of discussion. I never see the dog loose again

I also found that the sites on the right as you drive in are extremely nose low, and the sewer connections being way in the rear corner and the angle of the site we needed a 25-30 ft hose, which they just happen to have ,along with a coupling , for sale in there store. Not to mention the train that goes thru every night . Next time we go we'll try another campground.
