How large/what type RV for 2 humans, 2 dogs?
My wife and I have two largish dogs, 65 and 75 lbs., and are thinking about getting an RV so we can travel with them more easily.
Those of you who have experience with this: what type of RV do you think works best, and what size? We have looked at a couple of class Bs and decided they would be a little too tight for the four of us.
We have also been to the Lazy Daze factory and liked the 27 footer, the simplicity and quality are appealing, but are unsure if the floor space is enough.
Would something like the Winnebago Vista be required to do this comfortably? I feel like even with a class C in the mid 20s range in length, a toad would probably be required, so why not go for a smaller class A with slides and really have plenty of room?
There are so many trade-offs, of course, but I would love to hear what people with multiple full size dogs have found works for them.

We rented a 24 ft class c before we bought our 32tf c. Two labs, 100 and 75 lbs. Too tight in the short one.

We have a 30' ACE with a 45 and 23 pound dogs and it is fine for size even when we sleep in rest stops or truck stops where we keep the slides in. Before we got the MH we had a 25 foot ravel trailer with no slides with the 45lb'er and our other dog that passed that went 95 lbs. We did just fine with that combo also. Jim.

I travel with two cats, a medium size dog and a wife. Our 35 foot Diesel pusher is perfect for us.

We have travelled with three large dogs, Labs, and years ago moved from a towable to a class C, Winnebago Aspect. 30ft and three slides. We have plenty of room and the pups have their spots...usually wherever we are sitting. We upgraded to a new Winnebago Cambria after not having an RV for awhile, same floor plan as the Aspect. Perfect for us and the pups. They haven't complained about lack of space they just want to go. We thought of going with a small Class A diesel, but kept looking at the Cambria since we were familiar with it. Not the fastest going thru mountains, but we get there. And gas mileage is always 8-10mpg. Always take the pups with you when looking. And as a side note, make sure floors are vinyl, not carpet....dog hair...need I say more???
Enjoy your search.

…..everything on this forum seems to point to floor plan vs size/space.....once you get very far above 30ft, the discussion starts turn to gas vs diesel.. the type of toad you pull and the kind of traveling you plan to do [eg. cross country vs regional/weekend trips, etc].. ..there seems to be endless pros and cons on these topics..... further muddying the water is that lower end diesels and higher end gassers are getting more comparable for ride and creature comforts.....after 15 years of travel and 178K miles--the sweet spot for me is 36 to 40ft with a diesel engine....if you don't want to go new, there are a lot of gently used coaches for sale in this category at pretty reasonable prices--just have to look....

100% personal preference
Some are happy in a class B with their pets while others feel cramped in their 45ft DP
Budget, planned use (long trips vs weekend getaways), how much stuff you want to bring with you as well as what you prefer to drive should be considered.
I prefer a class A due to being easier to drive and also having a lot more room inside. Many feel the opposite thus prefer class C.

40' Diesel Pusher..single side just the DW and myself..no pets...some days it shrinks....If we ever need to replace this coach, will be going to a 45' 2 slide DP..(same brand or a Newell)
