We have traveled with our Westie terriers for years. Before we bought a motorhome this year, they traveled in our Jeep with us and we stayed at places like La Quinta Inns that are pet friendly. Even if we have to pay a pet fee, it is cheaper than boarding and we have the pleasure of our dogs with us.

We have two large bloodhounds that are certified for search and rescue what we did is we bought a 5th wheel 44ft.KZ Inferno toy hauler. But we don't have toys.So made the garage into a kennel. When we leave they go in their crates with the A/C running and TV in the garage on this seems to work real well for us.

We take our 4 cats everywhere with us. They just accompanied us on a 5000 mile cross-country trip in our old Class-C.

We will be traveling with our three cats and 1 large dog. Has anyone had trouble with curious cats getting in the slide area while traveling with the slides in?

Yes. Now we don't move the slides until all the cats are in their carriers. They no longer ride in the TT loose. They ride in 2 large cages in the TV with us. We do leave them loose in the Class-C.

Cats have been seriously injured and even killed in slides.

It's kind of ironic that I am in a motorhome (now full time) BECAUSE I have pets! I started enjoying the lifestyle as a vacationer 11 years ago because I didn't want to burden my friends and neighbors with babysitting my furbabies when I went away. Whenever I got home I would hear all the stories that caused my friends stress while they were caring for them in my absence. So we rented a little A and took the 2 cats and dog, and couldn't have had a better time. Now I'm in my 3rd unit, and my furfamily has grown to 3 cats and the same dog... We are all entering our senior years together on the road they are all great little travelers.

We are new to RV'ing and just bought a 40' motorhome. We have 4 Rescued Racing Greyhounds that are from 58lbs to 98 lbs. Does anyone have greyhounds? We're just wondering if taking all 4 of them will be too much.

I have my service dog who goes everywhere. I'm trying to get brave enough to bring my cat. We don't have slides, but I have visions of him getting loose & not getting him back. We have 24 birds. If we ever decide to full time, our bird population will have to be greatly reduced.

Yes, I'd take my parrot & conure, but the 22 finches is too much. I may have to do it sooner as it appears I may be allergic. 😪
