Our sweet Minature Schnauzer "Sammie" just recently passed. She was our traveling and camping Buddy for 11 years. We need to begin the healing process and are looking for a very good breeder in our area of southern California. Does anyone know of a good breeder?
Thanks, Steve and Cindy

Steve and Cindy,
My condolences on losing your sweet schnauzer girl Sammie. I have no knowledge of breeders but want to wish you success in finding another schnauzer. Are schnauzers not just the best? My own sweet schnauzer girl Molly at the Bridge reminds us SCHNAUZERS RULE!!

My cousin is not in your area but he has some beautiful mini schnauzers. They are either solid white or standard gray. My sister just got a solid white from him and he is awesome. He is in Greenville, Mississippi if you can't find what you want I can get you his information.

have you consider a rescue. Some beautiful and loving schnauzers out there. Just Google ...Miniature Schnauzer Rescue and find one in your area.
Our Belle is a rescue and been with us 5 years now.

Was wondering if you'd found a schnauzer pup yet? Rescue is great; it gives a pup a second chance, and they are so grateful. I've bought 3 dogs(Norwegian Elkhounds)from breeders, and rescued 3 terriers(one wire fox and 2 schnauzers). I looked into purchasing from a breeder when we got our new schnauzer last month, and decided to give a pup in need of rescue my heart.
Good luck in finding what you want.

Thank You Diane,
We have found a breeder who has pups that will be of age after thanksgiving. We will then see which of the litter will be available. Rescue dogs are not out of the picture, its just that my DW wants a female for sure so that limits our search.

When we found our rescue, Belle, they had the choice of a male and a female, both about 2 years old. She has been the most loving girl.

We got our Female Shar pei from a breeder at 8 weeks. 3-4 months later we got a male Shar pei that was 4 yrs old. He was a rescue. They fell in love the 1st time they saw each other.

WWW.PETFINDERS.COM Approx. 230,000 animals of which 1/2 are dogs! Listed by breed, sex, age, distance from a zip code, etc. All our "girls" have come from this site.

We too wanted a female schnauzer; there were many females listed on Petfinder.
