Jonny is BIF

[Wicked Whippets]

Kokopelli's "Jonny Be Good" took Best in Field today at the Basenji Fanciers of Greater Phoenix AKC Lure Coursing event in Tempe, Ariz. (Last event of the season in Arizona)

This was Jonny's first AKC lure coursing event and it was a tough one with temperatures in the mid-90s. As a member of the Wicked Whippets pack, Jonny hung in there and took home the gold (or at least the gold imprint on the BIF ribbon).

Jonny was rescued (by whippet rescue) last year when his owners abandoned him at the pound. He was traced back to the breeder who drove to Phoenix to pick him up and then matched with the Wicked Whippets as his new home.

When we got him, he was a mess. After switching Jonny to the BARF diet and exercising him every day he rebounded enough to try AKC and ASFA field performance events. We are looking forward to next season when we hope Jonny can earn his AKC Championship.
