We’ve just recently started bringing Millie, the 8 lb wonder cat, with us in the coach.
For those that crate your kitty while traveling, do you put a small litter pan in the crate for those longer trips?
I mean, you can’t really tell a cat to go potty before we leave because the next stop isn’t for 5 hours! Lol

Litter box in shower when stopped and in the aisle into the bedroom when moving since the shower door is curved glass and must be locked closed when moving. All five or six cats are free to roam at all times.

Same here- The (one and only) cat is free to roam. The littler box is under a cabinet, and the food and water dishes in front of the refrigerator. We keep the water level low, to reduce slosh-out. The cat usually sleeps the whole time.

It would be tough for us to find a place to put a cat crate when the slides are in.

Rusty stays in his cage while we're underway. We let him out when we're set up in the campground. He's used to that and generally doesn't complain. We travel at most 6 hrs per day.

We kenneled Millie, the 8lb wonder cat, until the slides were in and we were ready to go. Then I let her loose to roam the coach while we were driving.
This worked out SOOOOO much better. She came up front a few times to look out the side doggie window, express her continued displeasure about the whole thing, but then went back and laid on the couch or behind the recliner for the remainder of the trip.
She even used her box once while on the road. I thought that was a positive sign!
Going forward she'll have to be in her kitty condo until slides are in or out, then she can roam.

We have her in a cage when we are driving, other wise she roams. When we stop at rest stops we close off or block areas inside the coach so she can not hide in a spot which she maybe trapped. Such as slides.

We then put out the litter box and she will use it if she needs to.

But, she is special, if she does not go on her own we pick her up and put her in the litter box. 95% of the time she will go on command. Took a while to train her, but she is a good traveler.

We also travel with her 8 year old son who also a great traveler.

Mine all roam freely as I travel. Litter box is in the aisleway to the bedroom when moving abd in the shower when parked.

Letting your cats and animals roam freely in a RV while operating it on roadways is dangerous. Laws require seatbelts for humans for safety. Animal experts recommend restraints for animals for their safety and yours. If an accident occurs, they could become seriously injured or die and they become catapulted into the air through the vehicle. Be responsible for their sake and passengers. Our cats have always been trained to potty on demand before hitting the road or going to bed.
