Our heart felt sadness is felt for you today. And it's doubly hard when you have had such a good companion. We have lost a few good dogs. My wish is that when we go to a higher place, they will all be there waiting to greet us. Time heals but you never forget these wonderful dogs.

Thanks to everyone for your kind words. Though sad we are comforted by the fact that he is no longer suffering. We were looking forward to him with us on our great summer adventure, but since that won't happen we are taking his picture to all the sites we were to see.

Carry him in your heart and he will be there all the time. It will be hard at first but I know that you know that. When my Major passed away I carried a small GSD figurine with me for weeks. I would pull it out of my pocket and just pretend it was Major. I still have that figurine and gotten a new one when when my Angel and Sarge also passed.

My condolences to you and your family.

My condolences to you. We do understand as we have gone through the grieving process after loosing a beloved dog(s). As my wife said to me after our last dog passed, " I would dance to the same song again". We still travel with dogs and would not have it any other way.

So sorry for your loss, I know how hard it is to deal with that decision. I lost Swagg, my 18 month old Lab mix last Sept.
