In the past, I would never leave the dogs for more than a couple of hours on hot days. This was always a big worry.

After years worrying about the safety of our 2 dogs when left in the motor home, I finally bit the bullet and set up a system which calls my wife’s Cell Phone if there is a Power Loss to the motor home, if the Inside Temperature reaches 85 degrees or if the Smoke/Fire Alarm goes off.

This is how it works, and it really works great. My wife and I both carry Cell Phones. Once set up for the first time, the system is automatically ready for use anytime my cell phone is left in the motor home. So when we leave the dogs in the motor home, I also leave my cell phone in the motor home.
If any of the alarms happen, the “Sensaphone” accesses the “Xlink” which in turn by way of “Blue Tooth” places a call to my wife’s Cell Phone. When the call is answered, the “Sensaphone” annoyances by way of digital voice, There is a power loss”, or The temperature has reached 85 degrees, or the Fire Alarm has gone off”. All the alarm settings are adjustable.
As long as there is Cell Phone service the system works.

There are a bunch of additional features but these 3 alarms fill my needs.
For convenience, I placed all components in a single package.

A pic is in Logthumpers Photos below. Making it ours. 3rd pic.
Did I say it works great.
“Slick“.

Great information. I just posted a question a few minutes before you concerning this very think. I have sourced the Sensaphone and already own an Xlink.

Did you have any issues in the initial set up?

No. Once I decided what I wanted to do. Had never used Blue Tooth before. Very impressed. For the Sensaphone and Xlink, I decided to use 12v to 9v converters hooked into the coach 12v system so everything is up and running if there is a power loss to the motor home. First time I tried it after setup, I unplugged the 115v power cord - 5 min later my wife's cell phone rang and the voice said that there had been a power loss. SLICK

I have been looking for something like this for a while now,we were in St. Louis last July at an rv park , the power went out and when it came back on it must have came on and off a few times and tripped the breaker. When we came back a few hours later it was about 100 degrees inside ,the dogs were not happy ,and needless to say it changed our habits.

We have an gen auto start in the new coach and it seems to work, but this would give us another level of security.

I went to the manufactures web site and looked at it. this thing does 10 times more than anything else I looked at.
I found a model 400 on Amazon for $355.00 and the blue tooth unit for $80.00.
Looks like the UPS man may come to visit in a couple of days.

thanks for the post.

Off to Clinton Campground/lake for the weekend with 3 very competitive grandkids, 8, 10 and 12. Lord give grandma and grandpa the strength and patience to make it to Sunday evening.

With four "Babies" I am always interested in these type of devices although I need to get into the 21st Century and get a Smart Phone. On another Forum...someone suggested another option....for the 'techie's", you can check out "logMeIn.com" for the info. The poster said it was a 20.00 dollar soluton to this very sensitive Pet issue. I only mention it as an option cause.

Thanks for posting. I want something like this. We never leave the dogs unattended if it is hot out because I worry about these things happening and them being trapped in the heat.

We had a generator auto start installed ($1400) for peace of mind about this very issue. Will look into getting this also for additional insurance.

I hope this set up with the sensaphone, x link and cell phone will work for me.
I already own the sensaphone and used it on a land line.
The sensaphone has a battery back up so that it will still operate if the electricity goes off and will call anytime the temp is over limits or if the electricity goes off.

Does the x link have a battery back up?? so it could complete the call if the electricity is off. (and I dont have it connected to anything but the electrical plug in) I have a 5th wheeler so connecting to the battery would be different.

Thanks

Ron:
The Xlink does not have a battery backup. Look at the pic of my package in “Logthumpers Photos” below – then in “Making it ours”. It is the 10th pic in the group. The pic shows “2” 12v to 9v converters but in fact I ended up only using one to power both the “Backup for the Sensaphone” and the “power for the Xlink”. When in use, I plug the Sensaphone into a 115v outlet and the 12v to 9v converter into a 12v outlet. The package works great.

I purchased the 12v to 9v converter on eBay for $3.99 + $6.00 shipping. Search on eBay for: (POWER SUPPLY 12v in 9v 5v out DC TO DC CONVERTER).

Hope this helps.
