Fancy has settled into her new home where she can run with another dobie all day, chase the chickens, squirrels, bunnies, and sunbathe to her hearts content. I could have trained her into submission but she would never have been happy with the RV lifestyle. But the thought of being on the road without her protecting me was overwhelming . . . so I searched, and found, a new companion that has the temperament to adapt to RVing and be happy. AND she has the training to be certified as a service dog so she can go with me and not be left behind in the RV all the time.

Meet Elsa (GOTTA change that name . . .) 5 years old, champion breeder that's retiring. I'll be picking her up after I get the rig to Albuqerque. I am sooooo excited.

GM what a beauty, I like the way she is with kids, that's a big thing with us as we have so many kiddies around all the time. Good luck!

I'm going to be traveling with 3 dogs again . . . I got a little long-haired chihuahua to rehab and find a home for . . . and she's won my heart. I'll be posting photos of Angel soon. Now if I can just get Gracie to stop being so ALPHA FEMALE!! Geez!!

I am having second thoughts about getting the dobie. First of all, she could cause a problem at RV parks and other places as people ARE afraid of dobies and she's BIG. And . . . my life is so stress free with the two little chihuahua's. If I'm going to be gone all day I just put down a potty pad for them and extra water and I don't have to worry about anything. If I get the dobie, I will HAVE to come home at least every 8 to 10 hours if not sooner to let her out. I'm kind of liking having the best of both worlds . . . two little chi's that are great guard dogs . . . no one gets near the RV without my knowing about it . . . , they are portable (LOL), easy to live with and I can literally leave them indefinitely as long as they have food, water and a potty pad - although I'd never leave them overnight, I have left them as much as 12 hours and they've been just fine. I was wanting the dobie more for protection than anything. I think a shot gun would be easier to take care of though!!

I travel with 100 lb. German Shepard that has siezures and cannot leave him longer than 12 hrs. Always have to schedule campgrounds and site seeing, etc. around him. but he is my baby for the last five years. Don't know if I would know how to RV without a animal.

Elsa is beautiful and obvoiously good with kids but she's big and that's a hassle in alot of parks now plus she is a Dobie and they are on the no-no list for insurance purposes. To me though the biggest thing is her age. Large dogs life spans are usually pretty short. 7-10 years with 10 being on the high side so you'd just get her settled in, loving her with all your heart and then ..... Ok so it's not fair to condemn large older dogs because of their short life span but being a fulltimer makes life just alittle different I think. Maybe not.

What we are running into more and more is the two pet limit regardless of what the pet is (cat, dog, bird)

She is a beauty for sure.
