This is Boo & Shadow, brother and sister, that we had to trap and tame.
They were two of a litter of 5 little black kittens that were borned under our shed. We had to trap them, which took about two weeks to catch all five and the mother. They were really wild and had to be handled with leather gloves. After several weeks we gave three of them away and kept two.
This is Blackie
She was left homless after my wife's Mother passed away so we decided to keep her. She was about 5 years old and this was her first trip in any kind of vehicle. She really loved the trip to Yellowstone 2 years ago and was very interested in everything. She spent most of the time on the dash just looking at the scenery.

We used to have 2 black cats - Jack and Jill, of course named by Number 1 Daughter. Thanks for sharing yours and bringing back my own fond memories.

We travel with 3 cats.
One doesn't bother at all. He rides on the dash or floor on his back. One after 20,000 miles will come out occasionally if he wants something. He usually hides behind the couch. The female you won't see until you stop no matter what.
We have had them 2 & 3 years now.

Interesting. Our Boo spends a lot of time on his back also.
While traveling on the road Boo and Shadow usually stay under the couch until we stop for the night. Blackie spends a lot of time on the bed or dash. If she is on the bed when we stop for gas or a pit shot she will come running up and jump on the dash to see where we are.
It's interesting the different personalities each cat has.

A couple of years ago we had 2 cats that would go outside. They could tell about a mile before we got home. They would starting meowing and carrying on. They knew they got to go out as soon as we got there.
They would almost always deliver a mouse shortly after they were out.

Cats are a lot smarter than I ever gave them credit .
I used to have to drag our two cats out from under the couch when we got home. Now all I have to do is say we are home, and open the bottom of the couch and out they come
