Mrs. Wicked (Cammi) and I will be there, living out of our car... A bearing on the RV slideout broke when we returned from the Yuma show. It's been at Affinity RV in Prescott since.
We have the Good Sam breakdown coverage and they have yet to approve the repair. We are talking weeks here. Don't believe their advertising that says they get you back on the road quickly. The Good Sam people are truly dragging their feet. It makes we wonder if they are having financial difficulties.
I stopped at Affinity today and they said the Vectra may not be repaired until February due to Good Sam and backordered parts from Winnebago.
We spent the big bucks for the electrical hookup at Palm Springs, so this is turning into one very expensive and inconvenient show for us.
Anyhow, hope to see all of you at the show.

On Friday the wicked whippets were all puking. I've had a miserable few days with the crew. It seems that they, and some of the other whippets at the show were exposed to corona virus and got violently ill from it.
After one trip to the emergency vet over the weekend and another today, they are finally on the mend (about $400 later...)
Nasty stuff, this corona virus. We hadn't given them the vaccine for it as we were told most dogs already have an immunity to it. I guess ours hadn't and they really got sick.
On one dog the vet had to inject fluid under the skin to rehydrate it. The poor dog looked like a camel for a few minutes after the procedure.
You haven't lived until you have four whippets upchuck their raw diet meal in the car all at once!

I am so sorry to hear about your poor dogs. Could you please fill me in on this corona virus, what happens and what are the symptoms. You mentioned something about a vaccine, is this a yearly recommended vaccine? The last thing I want is for my dogs to get sick, and will do whatever I can to avoid it.

The corona virus can affect the gut or respiratory system. The version affecting the wicked whippets + affenpinscher + min-pins is the intestinal one.
There's a sudden onset of symptoms...vomiting and yellowish diarrhea. My dogs then stopped eating and drinking and became lethargic.
Dogs in good health usually recover in 2-10 days, but some dogs will have to receive IV fluids to control dehydration.
I'm not a vet and don't play one on TV either...my vet said the vaccine is effective and safe. In hindsight I shoulda, coulda, woulda given it to them if I had realized how serious it was. With the vet bills from this bout I could have provided vaccine to all the dogs in this part of the county!
As you know, the judges at dog shows handle each dog, opening the mouth to check the bite. This is one vector for the virus. Another is poop from an infected dog that other dogs sniff (they inhale the virus).
I suspect, because other whippets being shown got sick following the show, that a judge handled an infected dog and then infected every dog handled after that one.
It's Tuesday now and 5 days since they got sick and two of my whippets are still not up to snuff, the min-pins got sick yesterday and the affen-p is eating and drinking again.
For two days I had to force fluids on the whippets, which was like being in a 3-ring circus with wild animals. They REALLY didn't like this process.
Hope this helps. Talk to your vet and get the facts and make your own decision. I wish I had taken it more seriously when my vet discussed it with me a few months ago.

Thank you so much for the information, it does indeed help. Our dogs are in a fenced yard when they are home and very rarely see other dogs. I am worried about when we atart traveling on the motorhome again this summer. I do not think I could handle our pooches getting that sick, they are babied something fierce. I will get in contact with the vet immediately and get them the vaccine, sounds like a good preventative thing to do.
I hope your little ones feel much better soon.
