RIP Shadow

Our beloved 15 year Shadow passed away this morning. I hope she meets up with her brother when she crosses the 'Rainbow Bridge'

Went camping last week for the first time this year with our three dogs. We have a dachshund, cocker spaniel, and a german shepherd. On Tuesday or shepherd was her normal self playing with the dachshund. Wednesday she started getting mopey. She has done this numerous times as she gets UTI, and we thought that's what it was. We figured we'd get home, give her some antibiotics and she'd recover. Thursday morning we got up to get ready to leave and couldn't find the shepherd. We finally found her in the closet. We got her out and took all three outside. She went out and did her business and went into the the trailer. She seemed weak and layed down and wouldn't get up. When we were ready to leave I had to carry her to the truck. Got home and got her to the vet. The vet couldn't figure out exactly what was going on with her. They finally found she had a huge tumor in either her lungs or heart. We had to put her down on Saturday. She was 13 and we rescued her when she was one. She is sorely missed.

Sorry for being so wordy.

It's fine to describe the scenario you went through losing your loved one. Sorry to hear of your loss.

It's hard to lose a family member like that. Remember the good times you had with her as she will always be with you.

A Sad Day [emoji20]

It is a sad day for my wife and I today. Our fourteen year old terrier mix, Max, was who was suffering from complications of old age was put to sleep this afternoon. The vet who strongly advocates every and all ways around this, that has seen him since he was a puppy, said this was the humane thing to do. What my seem insignificant to some was an incredibly difficult decision for us. He was a part of the family. Our only comfort is that he won’t be suffering anymore. I will think twice before I take a pet for granted. What a sad day.

Sorry to hear about your pet. I know it hurts a lot. I valed to never own a dog again after I lost my last beagle. It has been five years and I have a Golden Retriever now that keeps me company.

Thanks,

Bill

Always a sad day when you have to put a pet down.

We have a 13 year old male Boxer which is ancient for a Boxer, he's in relatively good heath but he's starting to fade on us. He's our dog, but favors my wife, she's going to be crushed when we lose him.
