I lost my travel buddy, Chloe, on the first of September. She was a rescue Cavalier King Charles from Fort Worth. She’d been with me almost all the time for the last 6 years. A friend said it best - they take a part of us with them when they go.

So sad when we loose out little Buddy's-- I feel your pain,
My Best friend Sam- Black Lab had cancer and it was time-- On the way I took Him to McDonald's and bought 3 cheese Burgers - then took Him to His favorite park - He laid there and Gulped the Burgers and had our last smiles and time together He will Always be in our hearts.

So sorry, I have been through it many times and you are correct about taking them for granted. I dont do that anymore, when she wants to play we play, nothing else I have to do is more important. Healing is slow. I think it is safe to say a lot of us have felt this pain. One day maybe you will be up to adopting a new furry friend.

Thanks everyone for your compassion and understanding . We did feed him his favorite meal before we took him. We didn’t know what the vet would say, I think we knew how it would go. In a way I think Max did to. We are animal lovers we adopt rescue animals. We will absolutely adopt and add another furry member to the family. Thanks again everyone

Oh Joe and Robin, I am so sorry. They bring so much to our lives and leave such a big hole when they pass.

That photo is wonderful. Probably one of many, many more of the same.
Sorry for your loss.

After seeing our little guy Max take his last breath Monday afternoon, I can’t help but shed a tear after reading that.

I didn't realize that this forum existed here on iRV2.
First...I would like to say that in my life I have had to say goodbye to many pets. It does seem though...that as I age the tears come easier and the heart aches a little harder than before.
2nd....My heart breaks for all of you that have said goodbye to your best friends. Myself and all the others here understand and share your pain and sorrow.
And with that I post this from September 24...the day we said goodbye to our beloved and coincidently is the birthday of my youngest Brother who died years ago from pancreatic cancer at the young age of 42.
Please join me in saying good-bye and bid Happy Tails to our beloved Tinkerbelle who has been with us 17 years. She was having severe issues...and the visit to the vet today....well....it was time to let go. She will be sorely missed of course. No more pain and anxiety sweetie. We loved you dearly.
