The Scottsdale/Superstition kennel club dog shows are coming. They will run from Friday 2/26 through Monday 3/2.
I know there are majors in Norwich Terriers, Bernese Mtn dogs and Mastiffs so some of us will definitely be there.
Anyone going--wicked whippets I'm guessing you'll be there??
Jeffrey and I will have our Canine Physical rehab booth so anyone there please look us up at the vendor area!
Best of luck and hope to see some of you there!

Just got in from the Denver shows @ 9 pm last night. No points to bring home from the shows and hope to thaw out by the Scottsdale shows.
The Arizona Whippet Association is hosting a specialty at the Scottsdale show (I'll be selling catalogs for the group that day). We got 90+ entries for the specialty. I'll be showing three wicked whippets every day.
Look for the Vectra and the mellow yellow Jeep over in the RV parking area. Karen, I'll be sure and stop by with the kids to say hi!

Hey you's Guys,
Jo and I will be showing up on Thursday. I'm hoping that we will be parked a little closer to the rings this time. Jeffrey said that the rings are closer to the rv parking area and the venders are further away this year. That's a good thing, otherwise I may be dropping in to the rehab booth for myself!
See you there,
Tom

OOP'S...CheeetahGirl just reminded me that we are showing up on Wednesday not Thursday! Hopefully we'll beat the parking crowds.

I'll be there Wednesday. I think the rings are going to be much closer to the RV area this year. See you guys there! Bring your sunscreen!

Well the iRV2 family really came through for us this weekend. A friend had entered one of her Norwich at the show but then had trouble finding someone to handle the dog in the ring. Mom2Mastiffs and Wicked Whippets stepped up to the plate and between them, they showed sweet little Minnie each day. A big round of applause for them both to be so willing to help.
We didn't come away with any additional points for Gracie this weekend but we sure had a lot of fun anyway. Saturday night we had a big gathering at our RV, which included M2M and WW, and grilled burgers and drank margaritas.
This was our last dog show in this area until next fall/winter and we sure are going to miss everyone.
But new adventures and new dog shows are ahead.

This show was one of those "learning experiences" for Wicked Whippets. With the #1 whippet in the country in attendance, and nearly every entry being shown by a professional handler (nearly 90 whippets), we came away with a couple class wins, but no points.
What I learned: My plan to win Crufts next year may have to wait until we can win a couple points on this continent.
We had a great time at the party and getting to show a truly wicked terrier for a change.
We are going to the upcoming Tucson and Phoenix shows, then off to some smaller shows in California, New Mexico and Texas with whippet entry counts in the 30s.
I did negotiate for a pup from one of the top whippet (b) itches in the country. So, in a year or two I may have another wicked entry.
Cammi is going to start showing the Wicked Affen at Tucson, so that will be fun to see how she does.
Good luck in your eastward travels and make it back here some day so we can goof around at the local shows!

Sparkle didn't have the best of luck either. She was 2nd in her class and reserve winners "girl" but that was it. There were majors and that is what the wild red head needs now.
It was fun showing such a tiny little terrier girl. She was so sweet!
WW we will be in Tucson but I think driving back and forth as we are trying to build majors so we are going to also have a friend's mastiff to show.
Maybe Kachina if there are majors but doubtful there will be.
See you in Tucson and BEST of luck to Cammi with the Affen.
