I've had the RV for a year, just started taking the cat Sox with us on an extended trip. I saw him when I closed the front slides, apparently it scared him and he went under the bed. I started to closed the bedroom slide and heard a scrambling noise. I reversed the slide but it was too late. We rushed him 15 miles to a Vet in Greenville TN but he passed soon after we arrived. We are all heartsick over this. Please double check your pets before operating the slides. I never thought that this could happen. We had him cremated and sent home. He'll be there when we get home in April. Thanks for reading this and I hope it saves someone else from this grief.

Condolences on your loss I have lost too many to kidney failure over the past few years and it leaves a void.

Our cat is put into a cat carrier when we operate the slides and stays there until we are done. We keep him handy when we are underway too so we can grab him and run in an emergency which we had to do when our last coach burst into flames as we were traveling down the interstate.

Hondo..I would like to send our condolences also. It is very hard to lose a pet that we all know is a family member, too. Please try to enjoy the remainder of your trip as best you can and know that someone else will read this post and learn from it.
My prayers for a quick recovery of this loss are on their way to you & the family...

So, so sorry to hear of the loss of your cat Sox. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. And, as MM said, your post may help save another pet life. Hugs to you.

I am so sorry for your tragic loss.

Another good place to check for pets is your recliner. Small dogs and cats can get under there and be crushed when you operate the chair.

Our deepest condolences on the loss of your kitty. Ours doesn't travel with us but he is always going in there while we pack and we have to check EVERYWHERE to find him before we leave. He also loves to go under the bed so thank you for your post--we will always check there now before closing slides!!
Sox will always live in the hearts and memories of all who knew and loved him.

Blessings,
