We crossed in August going north at Osoyoos with my hunting lab. Had certificate and an opened bag of dog food in a tub in the original bag. I had read where the Canadian Border agents might need to determine the origin and ingrediants. Agent pushed the certicifate back when I presented it and never asked about food. However, I was transporting 2 shotguns to Alaska so had to pull over to go inside to execute the Firearms Declaration and pay the fee.

I noticed in the parking lot, there was a lot of dry dog food lying on the pavement. I didn't ask about it but my wife and I wondered if they made someone dump out food or someone worried they might get caught with it.

On way back, we crossed at Couths/Sweetgrass and did not have any questions.
