Want to replace rear camera

I would like to replace the rear camera in our RV. It is a 1996 Beaver RV and the camera is original. I think a new camera would be in color and much better in detail, am I correct? Also, do I have to replace the wires?

Most likely you won't have to replace the wires, maybe just the connections at the camera. While the camera will be color, unless you have a color monitor on the dash it will only display as black and white. Look up your present monitor online and see if it provides 12v power to the camera or some lesser voltage. If it's 12v, you could run 12v from any rear 12v source for the new camera.
