And if you go to Florida don't let them anywhere near any water. Alligators love them.

We have seven cats that go with us, I'm very careful when I move the slides. I check first, then stand with my finger on the control just in case I hear a yowl!!
One time one did get trapped under the bed, but I just opened the lid and fished her out. She was well clear of any "pinch points" but still trapped.

Glad the dog is alright. Lets see so far I have bent, crushed, or mauled a bedroom draw, many magazines, a few books, a hat, a clip board, and almost a bunch of other stuff I obviously do not always read my check off list But I travel a lot and rarely stay anywhere more then 4-5 days at time.

Our dog likes to lay on the sofa which is in the slide, as soon as the slide moves he jumps up to the passenger seat, and no problem he's a big chicken.

Our cat is always & absolutely without exception in his carrier when slides are in motion. I've heard too many horror stories & will not move any of the 4 slides without locking the door to his carrier.

We travel with 2 dogs that are harnessed and seat belted each on their own couch. They get a little nervous when we are getting ready to pack up and leave, so before we start the process I put their harnesses on them and seat belt them in on their couch.

This makes it easy for us to go in and out of the MH without having to worry they will get out, and we never have to worry about them getting hurt or us tripping over them. When we bring the slides in, they just lay there and look around while they take the ride in on their couch lol.

Cat is in the carrier before any slides move in the coach. Still don't know why I agreed to a cat.............but after 29 years I don't argue much anymore, "just tell me what to do and I'll be get it done for you dear".

She doesn't run my life now...............just makes it easier for me to say either okay, yes dear, on it honey, whatever you'd like pooh bear, etc..

Glad your friends pet is going to be okay though.

One advantage of a big dog - you don't lose them in a 32' MH.

I recently had a scare with something similar. My Susie was at the far end of the coach on the other side of the bed, unknown to me when I closed the bedroom slide, she was not hurt because she was in the space between the bed and the back wall, but I didnt know it until we went to go out of the coach and she was nowhere to be found! I didn't hear a word from her either, she's such a quiet little girl. Didn't dawn on me she was on the other side of the bed!

I would be horrified if something like that happened.

They are the only 'kids' I'll ever have, so I'll fix up a routine to keep that from happening again.

Thanks for the heads up. I never thought about it before. As soon as we start putting things away the Idiot Yorkie jumps up on the dash and sits there and watches. When everything is closed up and I put the MH in gear she jumps down and goes under the passengers seat, not to be seen again until we stop. She is not afraid, she just know where the AC ducts are.
