Just wondering if anybody is as nuts as I am about their dogs or just think I'm totally off the deep end. Both our girls have sensitive stomachs, one way more so than the other and as a general rule threw bile up a couple of times per week. About a year ago, DW discovered somewhat by accident that we were having less problems with the girls having those problems here at the stick house when she shifted them from regular tap water to the carbon filtered water from the fridge. I have since taken it a step futher that when we are out in the camper and we will only allow them to drink botteled water. Doesn't seem to matter what brand, generic or name brand, they just seem to do better on it when we are on the road.

We do the same thing. After huge Vet bills 2 years ago from changes in water, as soon as we depart home it is bottled water only for our Maltese. No problems since!

Thank you for your service!

Tough to enforce with our toy poodle. We can't take her anywhere near water off leash, as soon as she sees it she is in.

My bichon only drinks filtered water, both at home and in the rv. The filtered water tastes and smells remarkably better than the unfiltered. The tap water here in SoCal is nasty, so it would be almost cruel to serve that to her directly. I even put a filter on the refrigerator's ice maker.

Our Husky will lap at salt water when she is in it or near it. Doesn't mater as long as it's wet.

My dog drinks from the toilet, and prefers it pre-flush.

She's one of those "pro-organic" type dogs...

At my first house my vet advised bottled water for my pets as I was having birds come down with infections. She said in that particular municipal water system she had lots of water borne illness. We switched to a water delivery service and all was well so you are not crazy.

For our current dogs we fill plastic water jugs from home (the 1 gallon type) and take those for them to drink while on the road. When we run out we rebuy at Walmart as it is just much easier than having to deal with any type of dog vomit or diarrhea while traveling.

We live in the country and have well water. Jake got a foul stomach a few times and we tried him on bottled water from a friends advise and all is well now. He will drink from anything he finds outside with no problems. We fill up a couple of gallon jugs from home before leaving then start buying from the store.

I'm convinced its the chemicals that they put in city water and wonder what its doing to us also.

As much water as my 2 heelers drink I'd have to sell my tt or take out a second mortgage to afford bottled water for them! As far as upset stomachs go we have found our dogs do best with dog food only, no table scraps, since that change they have been fine.

Not me... It's just an animal, for cryin' out loud

(Our dog-trainer friend carries bottled water, every time she travels.)

We have a water softner on our well water because it has lots of iron in it .
It's set really high so there's lots of salt in our water .
We have always given "Ben" bottled water. I drink it also !
You can get it at WallMart for 87 cents a gallon , will last him several days.

I never thought of giving the kitten bottled water while on the road, but it makes sense! He's going on the road with us for the first time next week, so I'll make sure I either bring a jug from home or give him bottled!
