If connected to shore water, do you leave the water turned-on if you go out and leave your four legged friend inside? We camp with cats and recently returned from an evening Disney to water running out the door. We have Corian counters with matching sink covers, which we normally leave in place to provide more counter space. Well, seems someone, and none will own up to the dirty deed, rubbed against the sink handle and turned the water on and with the covers in place the water had no place to go except on the floor and out the door. What a mess to clean up when you're tired and just want to get to bed.
We're now removing the sink covers and have installed a quick shut-off valve in the outside line to turn the water off when we leave.
Just thought I'd share this tid bit.

We always shut the water off if we leave the campsite. Not only to stop the scenario you described, but in case something springs a leak while we're away. Better safe than wet.

I can't believe they wouldn't own up to it we always leave our sinks uncovered, but I like the idea of turning off the water. So simple yet I hadn't thought of it...

The industry should put a cut off on the master panel so it would be easier to remember to turn it off. Sometimes, I do, sometimes I don't (most times I don't), but it is a wise and suggested move, not only because of your trained cats, but in case a leak springs up somewhere.
When I leave I do not remove the pressure from the lines. I figure that there might be enough pressure to let me see if there was a leak or not when a few gallons, or less gets on the floor.

We went to leave a site one morning, I started it up, retracted the jacks, aired it up, took in the slides and started outside the door to help the DW. As I opened the door, I noticed the scenery moving, one of the furry friends had hit the park brake air switch during the night and t by, the MH was going backwards down the hill!
Moral to the story; furry friends can get you in about as much trouble as you can get yourself in!

That story makes me glad this is a Gasser, You need a KEY to make it move.
I leave water on... There is a danger of a pipe breaking but I still leave water on.. I've only been flooded once and that was at "De-winterize" (So it was bleach water and nothing got moldy)

Happend to us only once. Just had a shower and was heading out the door for the day when I heard a pop,and then lots of water start spraying. Turned out the by pass valve on the water heater let loose.Hot water went everywhere fast. Only thing I could do is run out side and turn it off.I will NEVER leave the water on again when we leave.
