Well my trip to Fl for two weeks was cut short by two days. Reason one, the oil is really making a mess of the beaches at Navere. The campground we stayed out was only half full at anytime we were there. Normally they are full all summer long. It is a real shame what is happening there. The cottages on the barrier island were less than half full at best as far as we could tell. Anyway we did all the local sites and had a pretty good time. I posted earlier that I was taking a lady friend who wanted to go and share the expenses. Well since we were only friends I can say that the MH got small by the end of the trip. Sharing of expenses didn't go as agreeed, not a big thing, but it did play a part. Also just not having my space that I have gotten use to made me want to get back to home base and back to normal. I don't think I will try this again. Unless I meet someone that I really care about that I really want to spend time with I will be traveling SOLO....

Hey Fatmanar,

Sorry to hear the trip did not go as well as you hoped, but at least you still tried it!! I am willing to try something like that, but first I have to find someone !! Heck as of now I can't even find someone to share a cup of coffee with LOL!!

Hey Al, the trip wasn't a total loss. I enjoyed the casinos and came out ahead for once in all four we stoped at. Food was great and the beach was good until the oil moved in. But there's just a lot to be said about quite time!!

Hey Fatmanar,

I am glad the trip was not a total loss, and yes always nice to win instead of just give them your money,LOL!! I also agree about quiet time being good!! However I think there is a big difference between quite time and lonely time !!

Hi Fatmanar You tried it. Brave soul, you are. I'm not sure I would even do that. I hope that some day I can share space with someone I want to spend my life with. In the meantime, company and fish tend to smell after 3 days OK - that might actually be little rigid - a week or so is good if I get along with the person. But then I'm definitely ready to be alone again. The longer I live alone, the more the freedom of it appeals to me. I fear I'm setting myself up to live alone forever. I'm not at all sure I could integrate anyone into my space or vice-versa without one of us having to live in the basement
Yippee!! for walking away from the casinos with more $ than you went in with It's good someone can do that!

Al - Lonely is icky, and for me, temporary. I just kind of live with it for a bit, then kick myself into doing something brave or trying something new. Makes me feel better and can turn my lonely time into quiet time.

Hey Jazz, it was alright, just, well, I just wish I had gone somewhere else with someone else. You know what I mean?? I might try it again with someone that I had more of a connection with. She is a nice person, just not someone I want to spend that much time with. Also the 50/50 didn't work out that well either.....You all have a great 4th. I am going to lay up here at home base and then head out to see the grandbabies for a couple of weeks after the 4th is over....

Hi All,

Hey JazzZen I am hopeing lonely is only temporary for me as well! However the way things have been going so far, I wonder about that! In the mean time I just take everything one day at a time, and what will be will be!!! I am at least lucky enough to have a bunch of great friends!!! Hope all have a great holiday weekend!!!

Hi... I know that feeling of getting closed in on. When you turn around -bump- someone's there. Any size mo/ho gets close after a bit. I've been solo since '91. Great feeling for me. However my way's not the only way so don't think I'm knocking anyone. Enjoy life as YOU choose because you're driving the bus.
Safe travels...

Poor Al,
Can't find a friendly soul to share coffee with you?
Just come on down to Texas! There are lots of friendly ladies down here who would enjoy a good cup of coffee and a good conversation.

My Casita is probably too small to share for more than a weekend. But it has been nice making new RV and other friends over the last several months. I am really looking forward to the Branson trip this coming week as there will be several other solos coming that I haven't met in the past. Still learning how to live the single life, but it doesn't have to be lonely I have found. Many meetup groups have the same interests that I have (sushi, theater, etc).

I was to leave for Jonesboro this week for a month or so and found out my waterpump is out this morning. No telling what that is going to cost. I just can't get in those tight places anymore! Always something...Happy Trails.
