Sorry about that. Guess I thought it was still a big deal around those parts. Maybe the show has been stolen by the "Marfa Lights."

You're supposed to be able to go out of Deming a short way at night ... park ... and see some mysterious lights in an area where there aren't any houses or highways. I did enjoy some submarine races out there while parking but never actually saw the lights.

Good travels to all and my personal hope is that each of you have a wonderful holiday.

Watch out for the UFO's and little green men, GM . They are what Deming is famous for!

Uhh.. Area 51 is here in Nevada... Just north of Vegas.. Every morning at 7am a private plane takes workers to Area 51 from the private section of the air port.

Actually, aliens from Area 51 and Roswell have been reported driving RV's around the area. . . so BEWARE!! No strange lights as of yet - got quite a scare from a weather balloon when I first arrived. Lots of beautiful stars, sunsets, sunrises and moons . . . really a PRETTY place - especially the City of Rocks . . . that's downright spiritual. I think I'll take my Native American Flute up there and play the next time I go up. Would like to stay there overnight but I'm a big chicken to do it alone and if my little doggies got eaten by a coyote or mountain lion I'd never forgive myself. It's just not safe taking them out after dark when we're not in a well-lighted area.

My agenda is Tucson, Tombstone, Phoenix, Yuma, The Slabs, Yucca Valley, 29 Palms, and then finally to Quartzite on January 17th . . .for the big RV show and rock and mineral show. THEN I'm gonna go to the Mardi Gras Celebration in Lake Havasu the last week of February and first week of March. After that, I have NO idea where I will be headed . . . . just gotta get the rig finished in Tucson . . .

Soooo much work to do!!!!

Well, I have had all of Deming, AZ I can take!! It's a nice place to visit, but 3 weeks is ENOUGH!! I have enjoyed running around with my new rockhound friends and have found some GORGEOUS Geodes and other rocks. I'm going to a turquoise mine on Monday, spending Tuesday morning cutting open my Geodes at the local rock shop (rocks rule out here!) Tucson, Tombstone, and eventually on into Phoenix to visit friends, then onto Yuma for the holidays. Tomorrow I'm taking in class in wire wrapping so I can wrap some of these beautiful stones when they've been polished and dangle them on a necklace, then heading out to the City of Rocks again to get a few more photos and a good hike in. Everyone should come through here if they can - the scenery is great, rocks are plentiful and there are some really unique locations like the City of Rocks, Gila Cliff Dwellings, etc. Looking forward to civilization and a MOVIE THEATER though!!

This is starting to feel like my own personal blog. Am I the only one traveling around and having fun???

I am feeling much better after receiving the medical attention I needed!! I'm backtracking and seeing the places I had to miss on the way out of Deming. If you are ever in southern Arizona do not miss Bisbee. I met an interesting gentleman from South Carolina there that owns the Bisbee Bicycle Brothel (does that tell you the sense of humor he has? LOL!!) He has antique racing bikes and collectors bikes and all kinds of neat stuff. His name is Ken Wallace . . . and he calls Bisbee "Mayberry on acid"!! It's a hippie kind of town but some of the most beautiful art galleries, coffee shops, old buildings, etc. that I've seen yet. Lots of history, a wonderful Copper Mine tour, great restaurants, gift stores and some of the most wonderful resale shops you will ever experience. The one on main street is a treasure trove. It's the type of town you could spend a week roaming around in . . . so much to see!! Truly a surprise . . . didn't plan to stop there much less stay there but so glad that I did. Tombstone is another amazing place and it's just up the road from Bisbee.

WHERE IS EVERYONE ELSE? WHAT ARE YOU DOING???

Sorry, GM, I am still just stuck, while my rig is undergoing service. So my life is ...well not boring, just stressful LOL. The last few days I have been baking up a storm...maybe 4 or 5 hundred cookies as well as loaves (banana, peanut) and squares (brownies and rice crispies). I figure I am unlikely to bake much next year when I am travelling so I should get it out of my system while I am 'dry-berthed' here LOL!!
Glad you are feeling a bit better...

How about shipping my son some banana bread and I'll take a few dozen of those brownies!!! Yum, brownies. I will allow myself to pig out on Christmas Day, but not until then. Sweets don't enter the rig at this point . . . 28 pounds down and not going to go back to old habits EVER again. Nothing tastes as good as being thin feels!! Of course, you look like you could eat brownies all day, every day, and never gain an ounce. That biker chick photo of you was one skinny biker momma!!

I have to send my son his banana bread, but I'm afraid it will be purchased. No baking in the rig. The oven is used for storage!

If I had a nickle for every time I've said that, I'd be a bazillionaire.

BTW, I'm not the least bit overweight. I'm just about 2 feet too short according to the height/weight charts.

Yes, Fluffy...new term to some LOL?...kind of like glowing instead of perspiring.

I think I am baked out LOL and I skipped the candy stuff like almond bark and peanut buckeye balls (no jibes, ya hear!!)...

A lady on another site said there is one counter top (B&D?) oven you can bake cookies and stuff in. I plan to look into that... and GM? Pictures can be deceiving. I am very overweight but hope to follow in your footsteps soon LOL!! Int he meantime I just don't eat the junk myself much.

Can you believe these young ppl (visiting me to help) made 16 dozen chocolate chip (toll house) cookies alone and their versions were HUGE!! No wonder all my supplies are gone LOL!!
