I prefer to stop, get out and see for myself if it's close. As many times as necessary.

The driver is ultimately responsible for the vehicle, and I have to see the situation myself.

Keep doing it just the way you're doing it, although I would suggest getting some practice in a parking lot....
Way back when we bought our first fiver, I took the rig and some cones to a deserted shopping center lot and aligned the cones in what would be the configuration of a typical "back in" campsite.
You could accomplish this yourself by picking up some cheap cones, I've seen them at Lowes and Home Depot.

Not sure where you're located, but there seems to always be a deserted big box store lot somewhere....

I have a question. Those of you singles that drive a motor home and pull a toad. When you get to the c/g are you unhooking the toad in the main parking lot, docking and then walking back to get your toad, or are you taking it back to the site and unhooking? This might tie up the narrow c/g road for awhile. Just curious, I have done both.

I guess it is a judgment call depending on the camp ground and the amount of traffic moving around. Some c/g's I have been to one would have to walk a half mile back to your toad if you left it in the main entrance parking lot. In other c/g's they are so tightly packed, one could end up blocking another sites egress, albeit not for long most of the time.

I do either one, depending on the situation.

Sometimes, blocking the road briefly can't be helped.

Hi All,

I have also done both, of course I like to unhook the toad as close to my site as I can when traveling alone!

I drop it before I pull into the site . . . and usually have to have help. Pulling out those pins is impossible for me to do on my own!! There's usually not enough room to pull in - at least where I've been. And I do back in often. The ten minutes it takes to drop and move the toad isn't gonna kill anyone - is it? LOL!!
