LGP/Propane Tank Monitor

I want to say these folks at app products are number one in my book. The monitor works great and alerted me one night when I had the furnace on that I was running outof gas. I should have looked before I went to bed but I was able to switch on the other tank and not loose heat that night. They have been very responsive and helpful with their tech support. If you are looking for a monitor check out their product you won't be sorry. Oh I am only a customer I am not affiliated with them at all. Happy Trails.

I have a 'auto changeover' regulator

Valve BOTH propane cylinders in.
1st one valved in is Primary
When it goes empty the regulator automatically swaps to other cylinder

Indicator flag turns RED.......
Means cylinder is empty....go fill it

Bet you have same auto changeover style regulator setup on your dual 30# cylinders

This is my favorite new RV gadget. It keeps me from having to change propane tanks in the middle of the night. It has a smartphone app that is so easy to use. I use it to monitor my Extend-a-Stay tank and another tank that runs a heater.

They now have a set of aluminum stand offs. I talked to ap products tech support last week. I will let you know. I have been using two pieces of vinyl 1x3 as stand offs for some time now as the green plastic pieces were horrible.

Thanks for the info! I wondered how long those green ones would last, but decided I could find an alternative once they died. Have you had to replace a sensor battery yet? I've got one showing red.

Yes I have you need a putty knife or something like that to pry the top off on one side then the other. There are two indentations on each side that lock the top in place if you look closely you can see them. Once the top is off you will see that pancake battery it a 2035 button battery I believe. It will be marked on the + side and the + side goes up. Hope this helps.

I got it open earlier and ordered batteries this afternoon. They are CR 2032 batteries.

Great Barb.
Glad it worked out. Sorry for my old forgetful brain. I will post when I get the new risers from ap products. The vinyl 1x3 are great and wont rust and cheaper but I thought I'd give these a try.

Installed the new lpg/propane display for my ap products mopeka monitor. They have done some upgrades and the display is now programmable for the type of tank you have and they have new tank standoffs made of aluminum. A much improved product I love it. Pictures maybe later.

I sit my outside tank on an orange Lynx Leveler block wit one of their caps on it to keep the tank out of the dust. I think I'll just cut a hole in the cap with a jigsaw to give the tank monitor more space and spend time instead of $. The new batteries arrive tomorrow. Tank readings on a dying battery aren’t accurate at all. The new tank I put on this morning is reading 24%.
