Welllll, on the road again today and what a nasty day on the Oregon coast! Really windy and rainy. I can handle that. My wine tastes better at the end of those days
My surprise came today as I looked out my side mirror and saw what looked like weather stripping flapping around my emergency exit bedroom window. Hmmm. That's curious. No idea why that would be. Aaaaanyway, I stopped to check and discovered that the weather stripping was flapping because the window was no longer there holding it in I guess I left the bottom half of that window somewhere along Hwy 101. It was there when I left this morning. . . I really hope it didn't hit anyone So, as long it doesn't rain sideways, I think I'm good until I can get a replacement. So much interesting stuff happens in this life.

Alright solos - I think most of you know that we have our very own chat room - yes, it's even named "solo." I understand others have tried to arrange chats and they haven't been well attended. Sad day to be alone in the solo chat room Shall we try again? I was thinking maybe Sunday around 7:00 pm? Seems a reasonable time for left and right-coasters? I'll be there if anyone wants to join me - or offer up a better time?

Hey Steel! Good to see you around again! I've missed your posts. Hope all is well.

Dyana,

How far south are you coming? If you make the San Jauquin Valley or Mojave Desert I will buy you dinner.

Hi All,

Hey JazzZen,

Sorry to hear about your window, and your right "interesting stuff happens in this life"! One time after getting to a campground after what I thought was a uneventfull day. As I am comming back from a walk, I notice I can see all the workings of my air conditonor!!! The whole cover was gone! Since it was not laying around on the ground I figured it happend on the road! Like your window since no one came by me blowing there horn, screaming and giving me the finger!! That it must of happened when no one was around, LOL!!!

What time zone is that 7 PM Sun chat going to be in??????

Hello Dyana, thanks for the kind comment. It's nice to see you're around as well! Been to the Deschutes for Steelhead, then Alaska catching (many, many, many) Cohos, then spent a month in Kona catching too many MaiTais Good times with good friends. Thinking of Arizona.... As you say, never boring, that's for sure.

JazzZen:

We had the lower portion of our emergency window come loose from repetive wind gusts caused by 18 wheelers passing us this summer while homeward bound from the IRV2 rally. Fortunately, I noticed the lower glass flapping in the window before it separated from the coach and was able to tape the edges around the frame. Since the glass came loose from being glued and warped from the flapping, we had to have a new one from Winnebago as insurance wouldn't cover it. $1100 + 1 1/2 hours labor. Hope yours in cheaper.

Wow! Thanks for making me feel better about this! I was lucky enough to be able to get just the bottom half of the window from Newmar for about $200. There doesn't appear to be any other damage. My eyes spend almost as much time in my side mirrors as they do the windshield - particularly on those twisty, turny, bumpy highways, so I think I would have seen the window if it had hung on for than a few minutes. I think it just went, minimizing any structural damage to the window frame.
Soooo - the window is ordered and I expect it will catch up to me within a month, then I'll be trying to install it myself. Expect a post with questions. . .
