Hello gang, just found this thread. I was born raised and worked in New Orleans. Move to Slidell 10 years ago. It is just north of N.O. on lake Ponchartrain. I am in a water front community. I bought a 2007 Dolphin in 1/2009. It was primarily to be my hurricaine escape pod as with every threat I am forced to evacuate. However last year I took a trip to Maine to see my daughter stopping in New York to see my son. Just returned from a trip out west to see my daughter. Travel with my Border Collie "Amos". Happy Trails

Nobody likes a show off! Lucky you, so many years to plan ahead, but for the moment "Young at heart" means a lot.

New to the Forum

Just discovered this forum a couple days ago. Thought I would introduce myself and say hello.

Everyone calls me BJ and I retired the day I turned 50. That was in 2005 and I decided to move out of California and try Washington State. Lived there for about three years and the wandering lust crept up on me. So moved to Maui, HI and decided to try the island lifestyle. Island fever finally caught up with me, so I needed a new adventure. Decided to try full timing in my RV and the journey started on October 31, 2010 (figured Halloween would be appropriate).

It's been an interesting beginning (lost my main awning while driving through Wyoming and a strong wind gust tore it completely off), but I'm throughly enjoying myself.

I've met some real good people in my short time traveling. I was in Tucson during the holidays and wondered what I would do. Lo and behold, four neighboring RV couples came knocking on my door and invited me over for a great Christmas dinner. Definitely made my day. Get tired of eating my own cooking.

Anyway just wanted to introduce myself.

BJ
