Hello Mike, Welcome to the solo site from Missouri. Sorry for your loss. Rving solo is not by choice for me either. This is why I'm still working. I take short solo trips in my fifth wheel for personal down time. Like most of us solo rvers, if we wait for a co pilot, then we go no where. Glad to hear you are still traveling in your motor home. kc sunshine

Hey y'all. New RVer here. Well, soon to be. Tuesday is my last day in the home I've had for 6 years. I purchased a class b in December and have been working on it to get it to a comfortable living arrangement. I'll be traveling solo (unless my cats count) and hope to hit a warmer climate ASAP. It's a little scary and a lot exciting! I'm starting full timing a on the young side (37 in April) out of necessity with a bit of desire for a simpler way of life mixed in.

If you are looking for good weather come on down to Texas! We have a great camping group here called the Texas Boomers.

I'm a new to this forum solo rver. Been at it since last April and loving it more everyday! I only move it 6-8 times per yr as I have to teach the youth of our great nation, but last summer I spent a month parked lakefront kayaking and canoeing everyday.

We started out in the middle of July and after about a month she became sick and was diagnosed with leukemia, probably due to her breast cancer treatments that she had over the past 5 years. She got chemo treatments in the hospital for a couple months but the treatments were too severe on her organs and the rest of her system and she ended up passing away in October. Now I try to get out with the RV a couple times each month with one of my many camping clubs but it is just not the same with that empty co-pilot seat next to me. I am still trying to deal with it and every day seems to get a little better. Hope to join one or two singles RV clubs and see how that goes. Do the IRV2 solos get together anywhere at various times?

Hi Mike, I met you in Tyler at the Texas Boomers roundup in November. Cousin Tina and I met you first and we wanted you to know that we really enjoyed meeting and visiting with you. Hope you are doing as well as can be expected. I just wanted to say hello again and look forward to seeing you at the next roundup, maybe in March in Athens?
I wish there were enough of us solo rvrs to get together here in North Texas sometime too.

After reading this site for awhile I think I may be ready to add my post. I am recently widowed ( I still don't like that and can't get use to that word yet) . My husband Jim and I had the house sold, the MH bought and we were ready to roll last June. But God had other plans, so now I find myself alone and wintering in AZ. I am from Bremerton, WA and had to get out of the rain and clouds so I came here to regroup. I still want to FT travel, but am looking to downsize into something more comfortable for me to drive alone without a co-pilot. It's scary. And I know it's going to be hard.
I can drive the MH fine, it's the navigating and merging traffic, that bothers me. So I read the forums for guidance and assurance.
This site is encouraging.

Debbi let me be one of the first to welcome you to the solo group. Great people and every one is already to welcome you in. I am also widowed and do not travel as much as I used to. I still love traveling and meeting people and probably will for some time yet. Full timing is not something I could do because of my love of the land. However, I always find the time to hit the bricks for adventure.

Hi Debbi,
Sorry for your loss. I am single due to divorce in 1977. I guess I learned from my first mistake, LOL.
I jumped into RVing solo last May after retiring. I LOVE my 25' moho. I can't imagine driving anything larger. I travel between friends and family's homes being chased by bad weather -- Seattle in the summer, south Texas in winter. I'm considering checking out the Good Sam rally in Phoenix this March and then slowly meandering back to Seattle by late May.
Welcome to Solo,

I'll be at the Rally also. I'm signed up for the driving course. Maybe that will give me more confidence. I plan on heading north around the first of May.

Hi Debbi,
Welcome! I am a solo RVer due to divorce. I have a 30 ft. class C that I bought new in 1996. I would really like a larger class A if I could afford it. I have had many RVs over the last 35 years. I am still enjoying travel in my motorhome. Glad you joined us!

Hey, Al, nice to see you keeping that great attitude! I took a year off from posting, but back now, sort of, probably once in a while. So is Mickey the Boston still driving the boat and the scooter, or has he been letting you drive once in a while? lol

Mike
Was looking forward to San Antonio sorry you can't make it. I was going to talk up the advantages of coming to April Dance Rally in Bandera. So this is for all who may not know about it.
Ten days of dance lessons both beginner and advanced dancing. All singles although some travel together everyone must be free to dance with all. Don't need to be a member of any group. Dances each night with the group and on Wed. trip to 11th street cowboy bar a real unique experience and lots of fun. Breakfast each morning and happy hour each evening, a few other interesting things during the 10 days. Dates are April 5-15. The first Sunday is Easter this year so we will have special lunch and entertainment. There are theme nights including Mardi Gras, Dress up, Western Saloon night. Participation in dress up is optional but if you wish to dress you want to be prepared. There is also an opening day picnic "Down on the River" kind of a hoe down theme.
RV'ers from all over who leave here and travel in different directions. You will meet a lot of singles some of whom travel in caravan's and some who join up for awhile and then go there own way. This is one of the greatest events I have attended. My 5th year. There is a deadline for regestration please let me know ANYONE who is single and wants to attend and I will get you an application
