Hello to my fellow Alaska adventurers.
As some of you know I took the Southeast Alaska Ferry route in ’09 and kept a sort of travel blog at http://ronsalaska.blogspot.com and I really appreciated your comments along the way. But the fun news is that there were a few journalist tagging along too and now there is a magazine article about my trip in RVwest - eMagazine with another one coming soon.

I believe my trip was inspirational to a number of RVers since some of you went the ferry route to AK this year and one or two are going next year. That makes me smile. If you decide to ferry your way around Southeast Alaska next year be sure to spend at least five days on Prince of Wales Island… with at least one halibut charter

On Photography -----
I had a very good time through the lens on that trip and it was probably the main reason to go. Photography is the one of the reasons I got the Casita in the first place.
Some of the 630 frames I took on the AK trip can be found here. I still haven’t sorted through all of them.

Plenty of wildlife and landscapes.

Also for those of you who are photocampers like me you may be interested in the book I had put together for my family titled “Photocamping the West”. It’s easy to do… you can make your own online and the print quality of this book is very good (link below). Anyway after I assembled it I was struck by how many photos I had taken that included my and friend’s trailers. I included the trailer so many times I think as a reminder of how I got to the places I got to. Here is the whole book:

Also in another link below I put together a gallery of my Casita in every shot just for fun.

So anyway I hope you like the photography and my thumbing my nose at the cruise ships and hope too that it inspires you to try an Alaska trip of your own. You know you want to go. So go! Really... just go!

Next year I may go back.
