We've changed our name. It was suggested that the term "singles" made people think of dating, and some of us are perfectly happy being "solo" . . . thus, Solo RV'ers!! We now have our own chat room . . . you simply click on the box that reads "Go" and a drop down menu will appear. Click on Chats and all the chatrooms will appear. We are at the bottom - Solo RV'ers Chat. And we will meet, again, October 2nd at 8 p.m. CST. I hope to see you all there . . .

BRING YOUR SOLO RV'ER FRIENDS!!!!!

I like the name Solo RV'ers much better,
cause, like you said the term single made it
sound like trying to find a date, and thats
not what my intentions were.

Hi to all you solo RV'er. I have a question, that I am a little shy to ask, but need someone to talk to that has been there and may can offer some support. I am married and we just got our 5th wheel this year (early spring) I already worry that my husband may not be able to stay healthy enough for us to do full time. He is 67, I am 56. He does not take care of himself and we battle over his eating habits (he is type 2 diabetic). I do not work right now and have not for the last 5 years, he is still working as he does not have any retirement other than S.S.
The question: As a solo female RV'er how do you build a network of support or friends to team with? Just in case I find myself single, I do not want to give up living in an RV or traveling. I may have to get something a lot easier to set up and travel with. Thanks guys

Hi All,

Hey Adnama,

As they said when I was in school a long time ago, the only stupid question is the one that is not asked!! I am sure others will jump in here with the name of some groups you can join up with! However I would say coming in here, and also going to the Thur. night chat is a good start for sure !! Good luck and hope all works out for the best !!

Adnama, PM me and I will forward you a site for women RV-ers that is very active and friendly. I am leaving, well now maybe later January, to fulltime and leaving the old hubby with medical (and other issues) behind.

There are lots of groups and even networked campsites that cater to women on their own... Have no worries about that!

Hello and WELCOME Adnama!!

I'm a solo female RV'er too . . . and I've been meeting folks online and finding out where to go to be in a "community" by talking to people online - here and other places as well. There are several groups for solo RV'ers that you can join that travel together, have rally's, etc.

I met one lady that is 78 and RVing solo towing a 5th wheel - and I met another lady well into her 70's this past week, boondocking at the casino where I'm now staying. It can be done and you don't have to be alone!

The sight IslandMomma suggested is great - there are also LoW - Loners on Wheels, Escapee's Solo's, etc.

I'm so glad you joined us and we're here to help in any way that we can!
