Hmm, guess I should invest in an oven thermometer and test out and record temps for different engine parts. Thanks everyone!

I found the book Manifold Destiny on Amazon.com. You can get a used paperback for $8.10 delivered or download the Kindle version for $10.99. It was updated and republished in 2008. So far it's fun reading!

I have never tried it in the coach. However, when we lived in Florida I had a 38 ft charter boat with 2 Cat 3126's. We cooked foil wrapped fish on the manifold every trip. Usual menu was corn on the cob & a big yellow onion and baked potatoes. If you could wrap it in foil we would cook it.

Need that book...I would give it to my Aunt Lucille, if she were still alive . Went on vacation with her and my Uncle and Cousin, she put dinner wrapped in Tin Foil under the hood of a 1954 Studebaker, we went to the Grand Canyon from Los Angeles. They set up camp and we had a hot dinner.

Well I started building my "engine oven" for my Truck/RV. this one I'm going to do a slight bit different. I am building the base for my new one out of 1.5 inch square tubing. this one will not have to be mounted under the hood as it will have engine coolant flowing though the base frame. I'm going to mount this one Next to by factory batt box just behind the passenger door. since sometimes there are other might come along with me on my trips I'm making it slightly bigger at 9 x 9 x 3 inches. I will post pics when its done.
