Our rig has the typical small propane gas oven. Everything I bake takes so much longer to cook through than normal. I made cookies today, and I expected the first batch to take longer than the recipe said (happens at home every time as well) but every round took about 2x as long as the recipe called for to bake through.

Is it the size of the oven contributing to this, are the thermostat dials usually off, or is there something else I might be missing? We're going to pick up an oven thermometer this weekend to start testing the oven temp, wondering if we should look at anything else while we're at it.

Thanks!

Ours takes maybe a little longer, but we don't have any real problems

I have the opposite problem; mine bakes too fast. Need to pick up a thermometer also.

RV ovens are notorious for being inaccurate in temperature settings, an oven thermometer is a must! A cheap durable one will do...it will get bumped around and moved a lot.
They do cook a bit slower, but make up for it by heating up faster!

Well, we got the thermometer and our oven is a good 50 degrees colder than the knob settings. Cooking times are getting much better now that I know. Thanks!
