Hey- I'll put this in for my wife Kaye. We're pretty new at this and she asks me today if she can bake while we're under way. I said why not with the Generator. Am I wrong? We did that in our boat cruising days but with propane. It was done when we got there.

I don't think I would bake in a convection oven while underway (but then, I'm the one driving the Class C and David follows in his truck since we have 2 vehicles plus the RV). Given that a convection oven cooks faster (had one, loved it) I really don't see the need plus there is the "spillage" factor. There are lots of folks who set their crockpot in the sink and run down the road cooking supper. We have to run our generator while driving anyway (refrigerator and freezer units are 110VAC only and the Air unit also runs on AC) and yet don't cook while traveling. I prefer to either pick up a pizza OR simply eat out. But that's a personal thing.

Gotcha. With a toad on I agree with you. I also wondered about spillage etc. Can't help but have some. So technically yes in practice - no. We have just been on a few trips with this beast and are heading out in May for the big on. We haven't even used the convection as yet. That may be a subject for later discussions and issues. We will have our laptop with us sooooo.

Thanks

I have made coffee in the sink while going down the road but I had never thought about using the crock pot in the sink. That's sounds like a good idea - I may try it on my next trip.

We have used the crockpot many times with an inverter off the utility outlet and the crockpot in the sink. I use a 12 volt extension cord or an extension cord to the crockpot.

I say absolutely yes! I bake brownies in the Covection Oven on the road almost every trip... Tony loves the smell of them baking, and he can't wait to "sample" them! I have had no real issues with spillage... check on it from time to time to make sure it hasn't tipped off of the wire platform.

I also roast turkey breasts often in the convection oven, it works great and is so easy. That's what I usually bring to any pot-luck dinners we go to.

Gotta get a crockpot for the Coach!

As long as the driver doesn't turn on the auto pilot and get up to check the progress of baking while underway, why not.

Years ago (1987) my first wife bounced off the windshield of our MH. She was in the back coming out of the bathroom when a guy ran a stop sign and I broadsided him at 40 MPH. The sudden stop threw her about 25 feet.
Unfastening your seatbelt and walking around in your RV is not prudent. Of course your hubby may not mind if he has future plans.
