Anybody enter in the BBQ contest around the country? I have been testing new recipes and a new smoker and have been getting some good results with babyback and briskets.Gonna try and get in on a New England contest in sept.They do fish and lobster also,right up my alley.

I've assisted my friend for several years as he competed in BBQ contest in and around the Northeast. He was at the top of his "game" and he traveled to some of the really big contests, Memphis, Jack Daniels as well as a host of out of state contests. He has since moved to FL and was cooking in BBQ contests so much it became really expensive and time consuming because, as you know, in the south they compete almost weekly.
His BBQ team name was the "Wahatchi Stumpjumpers." He was also the Pres. of the N.E. BBQ Society. If you search their web site you'll have lots of info to help you out. For that matter simply Google BBQ Contests/Societies, you'll be right on!
Aside from all the work they're great fun and you meet (and compete) with some pretty unique people.
