has anyone found a great way to microwave eggs? or at least a dish/container to best cook them in, because the bowl I use... the eggs stick to it really badly and has to be soaked in soapy water for a while to clean.
Thanks
Ed

I spray a cereal bowl with Pam, scramble the egg in the bowl, cover the bowl with a paper towel and cook for 1 minute.

Sometimes there is a little egg stuck to the bowl.

Ed, I had a recipe once and tried it and works fairly well. In a regular coffee porcelain mug, put in 1 egg, a little milk and what ever spices or pepper you want. Stir it up well and micro for 1 minute. They aren't great, but not too bad considering convenience. You may have to adjust time a few seconds one way or the other. That is only for scrambled eggs though. John H...

Occassionally, we give the dog a couple of scrambled eggs. I will mix up the egg, pour it on a deep paper plate with a little margarine on it, and microwave it. It usually takes three 30 second 'trips' with a mix with a fork in between the cycles. Makes a fine looking fluffy egg that can be eaten directly from the paper plate.

Now, we usually cook our eggs on the stove but have also used this method to microwave eggs for us. They taste great. If a little sticks to the paper plate, that is no problem.

We have a small plastic egg poacher, think we got it at CW years ago. Opens like a clamshell and does 2 eggs at a time. Just put a little butter in the bottom, open and put in the eggs, pierce the yolk with a knife, close it up and nuke it for a minute. Cleans up easily.

The first thing I do is take it out of the shell.

If you cook it to long it gets rubbery.

Pick the yolk with a knife or other sharp object. Eggs tend to explode, even when out of the shells.

Cook at 50% power for about 2-3 minutes, covered with plastic (Saran wrap, or wax paper. I use a plastic cover that fits over a whole plate, so I'll put the smaller bowl, covered with Pam spray - or similar, on top of the plate and cover.

Good luck.

I kept getting exploders every now & then regardless of what I pricked or scrambled. Add to that the single pan it takes to do great eggs on the stove versus the single whatever from the microwam, and I gave up on nuking eggs. It seemed like a useful expedient several years ago, but w/bullet-proof alternatives that take little to no more time, I gave up on it altogether.

Now I smear the pan w/Costco Pesto (enough for the oil to do its job & the spice to add flavor, toss in some some chopped white onion and some whatever-left-over happens to be around, some sweet bell pepper if I've got it, crack one or two eggs into the mix, all on high for about 90 seconds. Voila. One pan to clean. And if EngineerAnnie isn't looking, I eat from the pan over the sink and no plate to clean either.

I don't know all of the details - I suppose you could just play with it a bit - but I have some friends and family who swear by omelets in a bag. Scramble 3 eggs and add whatever you want in the omelet, include a little butter or oil to keep it from sticking, put it in a ziplock bag and nuke it. Take the bag out occasionally and squoosh it to cook the egg evenly and distribute the goods. I've yet to try it, but others love it.

Wife bought a microwave egg cooker that works great, without breaking the yolk. Makes great tasting poached eggs. Doesn't stick either. The egg-in-a-bag makes omelets, just add ingredients and cook(reduced heat) like Dyana said. At the irv2 national rally(Branson 2004 I think) we all fixed our own, but they were cooked(7 min. I think) by a committee in boiling water.
I apologize for the "I think" stuff. I think it's due to old age.

I have a little indoor electric grill (Ready set go) no surprise that it isn't as good as the infomercial, but it does ok for eggs. 3 or 4 eggs a little milk, pour into the insert (pan) set timer for 12 min. and do whatever else until the timer goes off.

We use the plastic coated dixie bowls. Just spray lightly with Pam and then crack an egg into it and break the yolk up with a toothpick. The egg just slides out of the bowl when finished! We cover it with a paper towel and cook it for about 50 seconds on high. Then we put it on toast with a piece of cheese and some mustard. Yummm. (no clean up required!)

I use a plastic clamshell cooker and spray with pam. Mine is one of the larger sizes, from Walmart or target or CW. Put in egg, then one Walmart frozen sausage patty, microwave till done, usually about 2 min at half power. serve on toasted english muffin or bagel. Add cheese if desired.
