I don't know if I'm posting in the right place so I apologize if it's wrong. I seen a post about using tile in the stove to even out the heat distribution. Could some one please tell me what type of tile to use?

Use only the unglazed clay tile. Available at Lowes/Home Depot/etc. Leave a spacing of at least an inch opening on the sides of the tile to allow heat to flow up and over item being baked. If you need tile cut to size they will do that at the store. Just lay the tiles together on the baking rack. Have had mine in the oven for several years.

I tried to get unglazed tiles at my local Home Depot and Lowe's but they didn't have any. I ended up with an inexpensive rectangular pizza stone that cracked in half the first time we used the oven, but I think it still does the trick.

Thanks for the quick response Rvhauler and Liz. I think I'll go with the tile if I can find it to save some money. I had a wonderful pizza stone a few years ago and I had to submerge it in water and place it in the oven while it was preheating. If I can't find the tiles I will go with the stone but I wonder if I will have to wet it prior to the uses? That could be a pain in with the small sink.

I use a pizza stone that I got on sale somewhere and it does'nt have to be wet or soaked. In fact I also have one in the stick house and it does not require wetting. Just check the instructions on the stone prior to purchase. Also a good idea to measure your oven before hand as you want some air flow around the stone.

You choices are unglazed clay tile or Pizza Stones,, Normally the Pizza stone is more expensive but I got mine at one of the outlet malls and ... Well... The price was right.
