Stove & Oven Too Hot

Full timing since October and finding that cooking with the propane burners and oven, even on the lowest flame, tends to be too hot. If I want to just slow simmer/warm things up it always starts boiling so what can be done to reduce the heat? Might there be a way to raise the pots/pans to get them more away from the burners?
Thanks in advance for all replies,

Stove & Oven To Hot

For the cooktop, my first choice would be to adjust the burner to a lower level, but this should be done by someone with expertise. If the flame gets too small, it can blow out and allow gas to fill your kitchen. This would be extremely dangerous. You can buy a heat diffuser to put between the burner and pot, or use a cast iron pan/griddle between them as a diffuser.

Very first, and foremost, being a RV tech, I'd have the gas pressure adjusted. It should be 11" of water column. And, if you don't have a manometer (about $130 tool with a gauge) you can't do it. I'd seriously have that checked very first. And, it can be adjusted to proper pressure, pretty easily.

I have the same issue, mainly when making rice. I am going to try one of these: https://www.amazon.com/8-Heat-Master...7DCCP4BVRZYJZV

Put it in the oven. Set temperature where you want works for DW. She brings it to a boil moves to oven Set at 190 it simmers away.

An induction hot plate is the best thing EVER. My counterspace is minimal, but I can keep the stove covers in place, giving me a large counter expanse to work on. But most importantly, I have the best control of temperature I have ever had with any cook surface.

Stove top burners are different ratings......

One (typically front burner) will be a HIGH BTU Burner
The others will be Lower BTU Burners

Stop using the HIGH BTU burner for LOW Simmering ---use one of the other burners for that duty

Oven.....
Use a oven thermometer to check/verify WHAT temp oven is ---compare to temp on oven knob. MFg. standards are +/- 25*F
Based n actual measured temp...adjust oven knob accordingly

Also use a 'oven stone' on bottom of oven......unglazed terracotta tile works, pizza stone works etc.
Do NOT block open areas around bottom, just center area directly above burner.
Helps to distribute heat evenly

And Propane System Pressure does need to be checked.
System Pressure---11" WC (~0.4 psi)
Stove/Oven uses a regulator to control burner pressures to 10" WC (~0.36 psi)

Which BRAND /MODEL is YOUR stove/oven??
