Here's a sauce I slapped on some beef ribs a couple weeks ago, I call it Cherry Chipotle.
4 oz. of dried tart cherries
1/2 to 1 can of chipotle chiles in adobo sauce, (I used 2/3 can because there were kids over)
15 or 16 oz. can of tomato purée or sauce
A couple sun dried tomatoes I had laying around
Blended them all up up till emulsified, then added
1 tablespoon cocoa powder
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1/8 cup of lemonade
Several shakes of worcester sauce
A healthy squirt of honey
A teaspoon each of onion and garlic powder
Pulsed it a few times, took a taste to see what else it might need
Poured it in a pan, brought it to a boil, simmered it down till I was happy,
And threw it in the fridge for the next day. Brushed it on when the ribs were about done, and wrapped 'Em in foil till it was time to eat.
