I have been thinking about my "RV kitchen" what to take, what not to take, when I sell my house and hit the road full time.
I WANT to take five place settings of my beloved Fiesta Ware ( really should only take four but how to eliminate a favorite color?) but lately I have been thinking they may be too heavy? For those not familiar with Fiesta Ware, Colorful World of Fiesta Wareit's more like pottery than china and is very durable, the parent company makes dishes for restaurants

I use mine, even the collectible colors every day and have never broken one yet, of course, my kitchen now is stationary :-)

I will have decent kitchen space for one in the RV of my choice, a 21ft Bigfoot TT. It has good CCC for its size, about 2,000lbs

So long story short what do you girls take with you on the road?

Practical plastic or heck with it, it's my home so I take what I love?

Corelle was my first and only choice, comes in pretty patterns, light weight and almost unbreakable. You can get a set or go to an outlet store and get the pieces you need and are easy to restock or add to.I also have two sets at home,4 grandkids and have had the dishes for years! We still mostly use paper plates camping though and use the plates when we have company or meat like pork chops or steak that needs cutting. I am familiar with Fiesta Ware and don't think it would be too practical, but if you really want to take it,just be sure to cushion it,by maybe putting one of those cheap thin paper plates between each of your plates to protect them from the jarring they will get.

Big plastic wine glasses from Bed, Bath and Beyond. Found some spongy placemats on sale someplace worked well for seperating breakables. In this case, wine bottles

Crockpot.

Take what you want and be safe...everything but you replaceable

I find myself more with the "take what you want" philosophy too

A very good friend of mine just picked up his custom built 44 ft Space Craft fifth wheel and shot me a picture of his kitchen.

Now if we all had one like this we could take every thing

Yes that is a full sized sub zero frig just on the right top of the picture.

If anyone is interested in more detailed pictures and description of them getting ready to take on a full time life on the road click

Camping World also has some nice looking big plastic wine glasses. We also have a small wine rack and I at least wrap the neck of the bottles with paper towels or that spongy, non slip stuff to cushion them. We also got one of those"seen on tv" automatic can openers, don't take up much drawer space and work really great!

Mark the owner is a wood nut and he went out while they where building the unit for two weeks and installed those floors you see. This unit has a four ft section in the rear just for his workshop.
He also loves to cook

Beautiful. Kind of overwhelming for the average guy. A friend of a friend having a custom Newell made in Miami, OK...well over a million $. Makes me wonder if you can get write-offs as people I'm referring do a lot of business entertaing. Personally, I don't need all that counter space

He did gorgeous woodwork on that floor

I just asked my wife what is the most important thing in her kitchen. She said a man that likes to do dishes-me! Her corelle-ware washes easily and is light to handle.

That sure is a nice kitchen. I like the copper like back splash.

Joanie, I have been thinking about your question and the one thing that I use the most is my tea kettle. You can use it for so many things. I use it for oatmeal and hot cocoa the most. That is one thing th
