Judy is a college English professor and teaches mostly on-line. But, some classroom and that is why I am writing you from Troy, MO. I followed your advice and left the inverter on while driving. It worked perfectly. We have to spend 8 weeks up in MN and then will return to TN for awhile. I am 64 retired (ex computer business), and Judy is 71 (no, she doesn't look it). Sounds like we have a few things in common. Thanks again for the helpful hint on the inverter, it really helped us out yesterday. Very nice chatting with you. Pat

Hi David: How fun. My wife and I met on the internet about 6 years ago. At the time, I had already had my license (IFR), and about 1,000 hours. Planes in my past (with partners) included a Cherokee 180 and a Piper Lance, and in a club with a 210, Cardinal RG's and 172's. My wife Judy owned the Comanche when we met (also IFR over 1,000). 260 HP, 155 knots, Completly redone and looking sharp. My medical is not current do to a prior kidney stone. We plan to get my medical approved this summer and get me some checkout lessons so Judy has been PIC. We met in Minneapolis. After we married, we sold two houses (kept a cabin up in Grand Marais MN) and a few cars, got our rig and moved down to TN where Judy had a retirement home at an airpark. We live right across from it and have a 60x60 foot hanger. (continued next message)

    patmsp,

Yes both my wife and I have our pilots license. She has her private, I am IFR & commercial rated. We purchased a used instrument trainer Piper Cherokee PA28 (low wing, fixed prop, 140 hp with custom gap seals, flaring covers and modified wheel flairings - easy cruise @ 135 mph) that we used in our business. Several years ago, just before the down-turn in the economy, we sold our business (cash - thank you LORD!) and are now retired. Just after that, the company that originally did the modifications & STA's to our PA28 (call sign 35PA) contacted us and wanted to purchase the aircraft back at a price I just couldn't refuse. I think they are going to patent the mods and go commercial with a "speed kit" for the Cherokee line. So for now we are plane-less. I had 852 hrs in her with 100+ hrs IFR. I have other "toys" so for now it's just some weekend time with a buddy that has a 180.

    David

Just saying Hi: Noticed your comment about your wife being a pilot. Mine too. We have a Comanche 260 in our hanger next to the RV. I've got a brother in Greensboro and we live just north of Knoxville. I'm also a pilot, are you too?
