I am a rank novice in the RV world having recently bought a 2003 Safari Trek. We were initially delighted with the Majic bed. The previous owner demonstrated how to adjust the bed when it would periodically skip a cog or two by using a putty knife. More recently this problem became a rather substantial one skipping more and more to the point of becoming dangerous. In fact, we fear running it up and down and leave it in the down position. This though create's a problem on the road. Not being mechanically inclined we dropped it off at an RV repair shop and were told upon returning to pick it up that they couldn't figure out what to do and were reluctant to proceed further since the motor(s) were riveted shut. We just picked it up and are now stuck with the problem and thousands of miles from an authorized Safari repair shop (we live in Colorado). Do you or anyone else know of anyone who may be of help in this area? Any thoughts would be appreciated.
