    Thanks for the update. I'm not surprised the carb is lean since the pumps are gone. I think the 454 has an EGR and it's port size might need changing also. I've had a few engines ping because of the EGR and used brass washers to reduce the orifice. Where is the initial advance set now with the extra 4*? I think the improvement in performance is going to be better than expected. Mainly because the generic distributor curve was so lame. How much is everything costing?

    Hi Brian, You will hear pinging and perhaps some "Detenation" lite footing or hammering it full throttle.
    If it's to far advanced just pull the dawg house and loosen the bolt and move the ignition back (right) 1/8 inch....(at a time till it stops).
