Where are these brushes you mentioned? Under the steering wheel.
Are they hard to clean? Not after the wheel is off.
How do you go about it? Send me your email address, mine is at the bottom of all my posts.
Do you know if yours is vacuum or electrical? The small trucks changed in 1993 to electric.

I guess the odometer is just not going to work. The speedometer and the transmission are fine.
Sometimes the ribbon cable between the PSOM and the odometer brakes.
Or the PSOM may have loose part on its board.

If the pink wire goes to bare metal on the fuel pump hanger then yes I would say it needs to be grounded.

This however have nothing to do with your PSOM output to the odometer.
Does the speedometer work OK?
If yes then maybe the LCD read out is bad.


The speed control (cruise control as you call it) is ran on the same wires that go to the PSOM and PCM.
So if the speedometer is working OK and the transmission is shifting smooth and OK the speed sensor is OK. If they are OK you may have dirty brushes.
