Let me know if you are able to figure out how to post an image now. If you aren't, let me know what the confusion is and I'll help you out! It would be my pleasure. Learning how to post images and links is very liberating and makes it possible to easily illustrate things you see or are referencing.

Click on the icon for insert image and a popup will appear: paste the url you just copied, click on OK, and click on the Post Message below the pane. You should now see that you've posted the image for Remove Text Formatting.

If you go to most web pages, you can right-click on a picture to request that the image is put on its own tab so you can then copy the url and use this picture in your own post. It doesn't always work! Some sites forbid this or cloak the image by changing the url for a 1 x 1 pixel. But it usually works. Websites like Instagram, Imgur and Pinterest nearly always allow posting of their images.

Right-click on the first one, which, if you hover your mouse on top of it, labels itself as Remove Rich Text Formatting. You will see a list of options. Choose the first one, Open image in new tab. Immediately you will notice that a new tab in your browser has opened to the right of this one. Click on the tab and notice that the icon is sitting by itself on the page, looking very lonely and small. Look at the top of the page and you'll see a url (Uniform Resource Locator) address line which begins after a lock symbol which, if you hover your mouse over it, says View site information. Move your mouse over to the url address and you'll see that it automatically selects the entire address. Copy this and return to this tab.

If you look above the panel where you type in a message, you'll see formatting tools, which include the insert link and insert image icons on the right of the other formatting icons. (BTW, I'm referencing the normal message panel, not the advanced, which includes a larger pool of tools to work with.)

To add a picture that you're interested in, you first need to get it onto its own page so that it's displaying it's unique address. We can use the icons here in the editing panel for an example.

Hi there! Just wanted to ask if I can help explain how to post pictures in a way that you understand. Heh, I'm obviously not being clear--it's my fault, not yours--if you're having trouble! Let me try again! I know how frustrating it is to not quite figure something out! I hope you don't mind me trying again!

You'll be happy to know that the technique is the same over here, as the forums for both websites use the identical forum software.

BTW, messages can only be 1000 characters so I've broken this into segments. Pt 2 is next!
