I just saw your "thanks" for a posting that I made on the thread that you started regarding a Grand Canyon visit. Your "thanks" included a question about just skipping the south rim in favor of a visit to the north rim. Here's a link to a prior thread that posed that question:

We're certainly not anti-social, but, the north rim is a little farther off the beaten path and not nearly as busy. We enjoy that. Be aware that the access to the north rim is closed during the winter (snow) and typically re-opens May 15th.
