night shades

the way Entegra has our night shades programed is driving us nuts! when the DW is still getting dressed in the morning (back in the bedroom) and I'm up front in our 2012 Anthem 42RBQ having a cup of coffee, I like to raise the night shades for the morning light. problem with that is, when I push the master night shade button, all the night shades in the coach come up, including the ones in our bedroom, leaving the DW "exposed" to the outside. we found out that there is no way to raise the night shades indepentently. we thought that one should be able to raise the living room night shades separatly from the bedroom night shades and visa versa (but that is not the case with our coach). do those of you who have an Anthem, experience the same?

Look at the control above your bed, you have controls for the night shades for the bedroom.

those controls don't do anyone any good when one is in the living area and the other is still getting dressed:confused:

I am trying to understand---- is ip5151 saying that the controls in the bedroom will "override" the master control, thereby letting you have the shades in the living area up while the master b/r control keeps the shades in the b/r down??
I just have a coach on order and have not seen what ya'll are talking about, but am interested in knowing the answer to this.

The Night shades master control doesn't raise the bathroom shades, at least in the DLQ. otherwise you can coordinate with the DW to raise the front while she hits the control in the bedroom to lower the night shades.:whistling:

I'll try to clarify.... in our 2012 42 RBQ... any of the master night shade switches/buttons over rides all other settings... push any of the night shade buttons and all the night shades go up or go down. there is no way (current programing) to keep the bedroom shades in the down position if you want to raise only the living area night shades...

Ours is the same as LP5151 and we have the same issues. It would be great if there was a night shade switch to raise and lower all but the bedroom. We also find the location of the bedroom master switch would for us be more convenient mounted on bedroom wall by midship rather than over head of bed.

The shades are controlled by multiplex wiring controllers. Apparently the front "all" button is programmed for everything rather than everything except the bedroom. This sounds like something that could be reprogrammed. After all it's just a software program loaded into the controller. It would have to be done at the factory though unless someone has access to the laptop interface and software (and knows what they are doing ;) ).

Sounds like something that should be brought up to them so that they can change it going forward.

I agree with the relocation of the panel from over the bed to the wall. Most of the time you'll be standing rather than laying in bed when you want to operate the shades.

update.....we are checking to see if a programing change can be done..... we think FireFly will have to make up software changes and send out to the dealer for them to separate the master switch in the bedroom from the rest of the coach. technalogy is great, if it works for the user! I don't think we should adjust to technology, but have technology adjusted to us to meet our lifestyle and needs.

While we were at the factory for our first visit with over 80 items to repair they programed ours to raise the front seperately.

we are hoping that Engetra will be able to come up with something to separate all the master swhitches to raise and lower only the shades in main areas (front driver area, living/kitchen area, and of course the bedroom area)

We are at the factory now. I will check on this Monday as it was already on our "concerns" list.
