First: Have you pulled codes?
How many miles on it?
Plug wires would probably be a good idea if they are older.
Have you checked for a vacuum leak?
Have you verified what the timing is set at?

When was the last time the fuel filter was changed? From what you've described those are the symptoms of a dirty filter.

Hi Phil and Welcome to the Forum.

Did I understand your last statement correctly - that it has the same issue running on LPG (propane) vs. gas? If so, then that rules out fuel filter or fuel pump. You don't say exacly which sensors (other than O2) you've replaced (MAT, MAP, TPS).

Have you seen the Check Engine Light come on while it is acting up? You should really try checking for trouble codes before throwing more money at it. Since your engine systems are pre-OBD-II you'll need a Ford specific code reader. This is a good one to get and not expensive either. You might find it locally for a few more dollars.

Amazon.com: Equus 3145 Ford Digital Code Reader: Automotive

Another possibility is a failing PIP sensor inside the distributor which is a pain to replace since the distributor must be torn down to get to it.

Good Luck and let us know what you find. :thumb:

Hi thanks for all your responses.
I have not pulled the codes as we live in rural France and it is not possible to get anyone with the kit to do this.
The motor home has done approx 45000 miles.
I have changed the plug leads, spark plugs the rotor arm, distributor and coil and the ignition module.
Also the O2 sensor, one of the temp sensors and air filter.
I am not sure when the fuel filter was last changed.
In the manual the timing is set and cannot be adjusted.
I have checked for vacume leaks.
Does anyone know of a code reader stockist that will post to France?
My RV has a fuel injected engine.....does this make any difference?
